TriNet

TriNet is a professional employer organization headquartered in San Leandro, California. It provides HR outsourcing services, including payroll, health benefits, and human capital management for small business owners

Role & Project Summary

  • Canadian Holiday

  • Canadian holidays are very complex differing from region to region. This is the administrative panel that allows payroll administrator to set which holidays they considered pay
  • Canadian holidays vary much greater than holidays in the US. They can vary from province to province and we needed a way in the UI to determine which holidays a company would be paid holidays for their organization
  • A succinct way to determine Canadian paid holidays for a company

Project Constraints

  • User can manage their specific paid holidays for all Canadian regions from one central screen

  • The functionality for this initial phase of this feature came from a PDF that users were having to fill out manually and send to the company to have manually input. With a few alterations to make it work as a webpage we were off to the faces
  • Canadian holidays are tricky as they vary greatly depending on location. We need to give administrators a seamless way to set these for their company based on their own needs
  • We believe having an online way to set holidays for our Canadian users instead of the pdf form will reduce workload for both the end user and the CSR

Example

At the beginning of my design process I created wireframes for testing purposes.

Guiding Questions

  • Why was it useful to do this?
  • What kind of wireframes did you make?
  • Low fidelity or high fidelity?
  • What tool did you use for this?
  • Did you use them for testing?
  • How many iterations did you have?
